What Is Emotional Eating

Emotional eating affects both men and women. It is the practice of finding comfort in food when a person feels down or stressed. These stressful emotions are triggered by several factors, such as: anger, fear, sadness, loneliness, hormonal changes, and boredom.. Excess eating is linked to many negative effects on the body. Those might be: weight gain, obesity, mental and physical health problems, and other illnesses.

In fact, bulimia is among the most common emotional eating disorders. It is excessive food consumption to calm disordered emotions.
